"whynot.net: How to Use Everyday Ingenuity to Solve Problems Big and Small"
I love this website where people just drop ideas that came to their mind to improve everydaylife objects. They don't want to develop anything or to start a venture to make the most of this idea, they just want to share it with other people, to see if their idea is really relevant, and eventually they would like some entrepreneur to implement the change they suggested. For example one of the top rated idea is to introduce progressive brake lights on cars which reflect the level of decelaration: this should not need any particular technological innovation and would indeed help reducing the number of accidents since difficulties in evaluating the space and time you have to reduce your speed when somebody brakes in front of you is a major cause of crashes. And their are hundreds of little ideas, some don't even need any technological innovation, and what I like is that they are the direct reflection of people's everyday thoughts, and it is the very best way to figure out tomorrow's needs.
